A. My favorite topic was the stars. I loved learning about the lifecycle and stages and diagrams. I think it's interesting when you start to realize that there are SO many many many stars and it's crazy when you start to realize how big the universe really is!
B. My least favorite topic was the EM spectrum... I'm not sure that I totally understood it, and would've enjoyed if we had some sort of interactive project with it...
C. To make the class better, I would have shorter time periodsfor projects. Sometimes I felt like the amount of time we had, led to procrastination.
D. The hardes thing to grasp was the size of the universe and planets... Considering our size in relation to the millions of other galazies out there, I guess our solar system is quite small...
THanks Mrs. Gratton for a great year! :)

EM Spectrum Brochure
The EM spectrum is made up of varying types of waves and frequencies. Astronermersare able to use waves in a few ways such as reading locations of other galactic bodies and get pictures of them. Three concepts that I learned about were photons, what UV rays really are made up of , and the seven types of radiation along with examples for each! Two questions that I still have are whether or not the radiation in this spectrum are dangerous or harmful, and also if there is a possibility for new "types" to be invented. I liked doing this project and making the brochure was a lot of fun. I didn't like how much information was required on the brochure, as I feel like it could've been more of a "glance" at the EM spectrum. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything. Overall, the project was fun!

Star Project
For the star project, I had a Planetary Nebula. A planetary nebula is a cloud of interstellar gas and dust with a star in the center. I really like this project because it was fun to use glogster and create a glog using the information that we'd researched. The two things that I didn't like about the project were the fact that there was a little too much time given, and the project dragged out slightly and that we had a few minor difficulties with the SmartBoard during our presentation. I'm not really sure what I'd change about the project... Maybe assign less time to complete it?...

Who Am I?
I am a 10th grade Space Science Honors student. My hobbies include; volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, track, and most of all, eventing. For those of you who are unfamiliar with eventing, it is indeed a sport. It's a three day horseshow, the first day you compete in showjumping, second day is dressage and 3rd day is cross country which is typically a 10-20 mile ride. It is the best sport in the world! :)
I chose honors because I figured I'd get the most out of honors which is important because the information is actually something that I may use in later life, or it may be nice to know....I hope to get a basic knowledge of what the universe is really like. Instead of simply knowing that it's large...
